The United Nations Convention against Corruption (UNCAC) requires states to ensure the existence of a body or bodies to prevent corruption and it has been argued that this calls for specialized preventive anti-corruption agencies. This paper does not agree and believes it is unavoidable that this implies the involvement of other institutions, especially because such bodies are responsible both for coordinating, supervising and implementation.
