The Global Legislative Openness Conference is going to take place on May 19th and 20th. The two-day event is hosted by the Ukrainian Parliament and organized by the Legislative Openness Working Group of the Open Government Partnership and the Open Parliament Initiative in Ukraine.
The central theme of the event is legislative openness. Leading legislators, government officials and civil society representatives will all come together to discuss how openness can strengthen public trust in representative institutions and build a responsive 21st century legislature. The conference's panels include subjects, such as Lobbying Regulation, Citizen Trust in Parliaments, and Open budgets, which will all look at legislative openness from different angles. In addition, the Open Government Partnership’s new legislative engagement policy is also going to be a topic of debate. In the backdrop of new legislative engagement policy, participants will deliberate on how parliaments can develop and implement legislative openness plans and commitments.
