Scotland faces a period of considerable uncertainty with the combinationof Brexit, the climate emergency, and shifting public narratives on land ownership and land use. Responding to this, the Scottish Parliament hosted a Citizens’ Jury in March 2019, to consider how funding and advice for land management should be designed to improve Scotland’s natural environment. The Citizen’s Jury identified a number of recommendations.

This document reviewsthe relevantcurrent Scottish Government policy, funding and incentive structures to support the Environment, Climate Change and Land Reform (ECCLR) Committee’s consideration of the recommendations. The analysis conducted was supported by interviews with policy and land management actors
