The paper published by the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime came together to develop a comprehensive and integrated anti-corruption strategy that would target political, social and economic domains. In that context, the United Nations Convention against Corruption (UNCAC) provided a platform on which international cooperation could flourish. Several panels discussed the following themes: Preventive measures against corruption: the role of the private and the public sectors; the role of civil society and the media in building a culture against corruption;  legislative measures to implement the United Nations Convention against Corruption; measures to fight corruption in national and international financial systems.
