This document is the full report of the seminar on Parliaments and Judiciary, Judicial Control of Parliamentary Acts, organized by the legal departments of the Belgian House of Representatives and the Belgian Senate within the framework and with the collaboration of the European Centre for Parliamentary Research and Documentation (ECPRD), held on 8-9 November 2007 in Brussels.

The final report of the conference was coedited by N. Igot (Belgian Chamber of Representatives), A. Rezohàzy (Belgian Senate), and M. Van Der Hulst (Belgian Chamber of Represenatatives).

The seminar addressed 4 central themes with regard to the sensitive relations between parliament and judiciary: (1) A case-study of an area of tension between the autonomy of parliamentary assemblies and general legal principles: search and seizure on parliamentary premises; (2) the representation at law of a parliamentary assembly; (3) the judicial review of acts accomplished by parliament in the exercise of key parliamentary functions, and (4) the judicial review of acts accomplished by parliament outside the scope of key parliamentary functions.
