This publication highlights the critical role of parliamentary oversight in ensuring government accountability and strengthening democratic governance across the OSCE region. Drawing on a comparative study of 56 States, it examines constitutional and procedural frameworks, good practices, and contemporary challenges such as pandemic-related expedited legislation and the impact of new technologies. The report provides guidance to reinforce effective oversight and uphold the representative, accountable nature of parliamentary democracies.
