The purpose of this report is to review good practice and lessons learned across all four of the UNDP’s Pacific parliamentary support projects under evaluation: Fiji, Solomon Islands, Marshall Islands, and PNG. It is intended to inform future program design and assistance decisions within Country Offices and the Regional Office, as well as to contribute more generally to regional learning in the area of parliamentary assistance.

This Report does not dwell on the specificities of each separate Project, but draws out lessons from the Projects, individually, or comparatively where they have done similar things with varying results. It is recognised that success and failure are influenced by often unique local conditions, and the Report attempts to reflect these contextual factors in its analysis of the advantages, challenges and disadvantages posed by the various strategies and activities tried out in the projects.
